Teacher Education in Lifelong Learning (TELL)

Teacher Education in Lifelong Learning (TELL) research network

Our objectives include to:

  • Capture the passion and distinctive vision of post compulsory teacher education
  • Celebrate its achievements and raise its profile
  • Build capacity and support practitioner Post Compulsory Education (PCE) Teacher Educator (TEd) researchers
  • Connect researchers; debate the challenges; connect and inform members, curate and publish research information, updates and results

No research network for post compulsory teacher education existed until, in May 2011, a call to the PCE TEd community via existing networks to consider a network was made. The first meeting drew 50+ participants and TELL was established. We now have over 300 members across the sector, mainly in England, with a small number in Wales and Scotland.

It is a completely voluntary network, is self- managed and has no funding. Members host free meetings, we have four or five a year around the country, and we join with other networks to share meetings. Over 150 people attend these meetings each year. Members usually receive around 5 email updates each year, featuring research, publications, events, activities and news from members.

TELL members produced the first ever book by PCE TEds about PCE Teacher Education, Connecting Professionals and TELL has produced a research supplement – TELLing Stories #1 To join email Jim Crawley at j.crawley@bathspa.ac.uk ┬áMore at: http://teachereducator.org.uk/tell
