ALT is a professional and scholarly organisation, representing individuals and organisations from across the education sector. The Association works to promote research, knowledge-sharing, and effective practice in Learning Technology by supporting the publication and dissemination of research and evidence, and by facilitating communication and sharing across professional peer networks. ALT publishes and curates Open Access research and educational resources through its OA journal Research in Learning Technology, an OA Repository, and the #ALTC Blog.
ALT works across sectors, bringing together colleagues from Further, Vocational, and Higher Education through events, groups, and discussion lists. ALT works with partners such as the Association of Colleges and the Learning and Work Institute, and supports a FELTAG Special Interest mailing list. Recent work includes the Blended Learning Essentials courses on FutureLearn, for which ALT was a project partner.
